More than 120 running events take place annually in the German capital Berlin. The most famous running event in Germany is the Berlin Marathon. In addition to the classic marathon, there are also many other great running events, such as the Half Marathon, the Women's Run or the Berlin Triathlon. You can expect an all-round feel-good package with a free upgrade to the Superior category, a rich breakfast buffet and discounts on food and drinks, so that you only concentrate on running. To relax, guests receive free entry to our spa and a free soft drink on Saturdays.
The biggest running event in the capital is the Berlin Marathon in September. Every year, it attracts thousands of running enthusiasts from around the world. In addition to the impressive route, which leads many Berlin highlights such as the Victory Column, the Kurfürstendamm, to the finish line through the Brandenburg Gate, it’s also the good mood with countless bands that makes the marathon so popular.
In the recent years, also the little brother of the Berlin Marathon has gained in importance. In April, the running community from Berlin and the surrounding area meet after the quite winter season for the first major season highlight. With more than 36.000 participants, the Berlin Half Marathon almost reaches the dimensions of the Berlin Marathon.
In May, more than 17.000 women gather for the AVON Women's Run. There are either 5km of walking or running, with or without timekeeping, and the 10km distance, which is being offered with timekeeping only. At Germany's largest women's run, the Berlin Tiergarten and the Straße des 17. Juni are transformed into a pink feel-good zone. The event is a charity run for breast cancer sufferers. Shopping, beauty and relaxation offers complete the program.
For the 14th time the Berlin Triathlon will take place in June 2020 with start at the island of youth in Treptower Park in Berlin. Innovations this year: In addition to the previous distances Olympic, Sprint, Folk triathlon and children’s triathlon on Sunday, there will be a middle distance and a supersprint on Saturday in 2020. The bike course was extended to 6.34 km, various other run-off points were improved and upgraded.
