ARCOTEL Boltzmann Vienna - Location

The ARCOTEL Boltzmann is just a few minutes’ walk from the Ringstraße with its magnificent buildings – the Parliament, the City Hall and the Hofburg Palace. The boutique hotel is located on a quiet side road, close to the famous Strudelhofstiege - an outdoor staircase and important example of Jugendstil. Sigmund Freud cherished the typical Gründerzeit architecture of the Serviten quarter, this small area within the 9th district.

• From the west (Westautobahn):
  Drive along A1 in direction Wien/Auhof. Follow the street "Hitzinger Kai - Schönbrunner Schloßstraße". This street merges into the street "Schönbrunnerstraße". Go straight ahead until the street "Gürtel (part Gaudenzdorfer/ Margaretengürtel)". Drive and stay straight on the "Gürtel" until you reach the "Volksoper" (opera house on the right side). Turn right into the "Währinger Straße" and turn left at the second traffic light left onto the "Boltzmanngasse". You are at our hotel in about 100 meters.

• From the south (Südautobahn):
  Drive along A2, exit at Altmannsdorf/Inzersdorf and follow the street until the exit "Gürte"l. Drive along the "Triester Straße" till "Matzleinsdorferplatz". Turn left on the "Margaretengürtel" and follow the "Gürtel" until you reach the "Volksoper". Turn right into the "Währinger Straße" and turn left at the second traffic light left onto the "Boltzmanngasse". You are at our hotel in about 100 meters.

• From Danube Shore Highway (Donauuferautobahn):
  Drive along A22 and exit at "Nordbrücke". Follow the street "Nussdorfer Lände", then "Heiligenstätter Lände" until "Alserbachstraße". Keep following the street straight ahead until you come to "Nussdorferstraße". Turn left and at the next traffic light left again onto the "Währinger Straße". At the next traffic light turn left onto the "Boltzmanngasse". You are at our hotel in about 100 meters.

• From the east (Ostautobahn):
  Drive along A4 in direction Vienna. Follow the street "Schüttelstraße" (direction city centre). Stay on this street -- the name changes into "Untere Donaustraße", then into "Obere Donaustraße" and finally into "Brigittenauer Lände". Here keep left and turn on the bridge "Friedensbrücke" to "Alserbachstraße". Follow the street until "Nussdorferstraße". Turn left and at the next traffic light turn left again into the "Währinger Straße". At the next traffic light turn left into the "Boltzmanngasse". You are at our hotel in about 100 meters.

Important information for arrival by car
You can park on the street in front of the hotel. In the whole 9th district is a short-stay parking zone from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m. One hour costs EUR 1.20. You can get short-stay parking tickets at the reception. If you want to, our receptionists can change the tickets for you during your stay, because one ticket is valid only for 3 hours.


Arrival by train - Railway map

• From West Railway Station (Westbahnhof):
  Take tram number 5 (direction Praterstern) and get out at the station "Währinger Straße/Spitalgasse". Follow the "Währinger Straße" for 100 meters and turn left into the "Strudlhofgasse". The next street is the "Boltzmanngasse" where the hotel is situated.

• From Railway Station South (Südbahnhof):
  Take tram letter D (direction Nussdorf) and get out at station "Schottentor". Change to tram 37, 38, 40, 41, or 42 and get out at the second station "Spitalgasse/Nussdorferstraße".

We recommend to get off in Wien-Meidling and take the underground U6 (direction Floridsdorf). Get out at the station "Währinger Straße" and change to tram 40, 41, or 42 direction Schottentor). Get out at "Sensengasse"; opposite is the Boltzmanngasse. The hotel is situated about 100 meters away.

Arrival from the airport

• By bus (Vienna Airport Lines): - Vienna Airport Lines Bus timetable
  To "Westbahnhof" (Railway Station West), change there to tram number 5 (direction Praterstern) and get out at the station "Währinger Straße/Spitalgasse". Follow the "Währinger Straße" for 100 meters and turn left into the "Strudlhofgasse". The next street is the "Boltzmanngasse" where the hotel is situated. (one-way ticket EUR 6.00)

  At the station "Landstraße Wien-Mitte" change to underground U4 (direction Heiligenstadt) and get out at the station "Schottenring", change to the U2 (direction Karlsplatz) and get out at the station "Schottentor – Universität". Change to tram 37, 38, 40, 41, or 42 and get out at the second station "Spitalgasse/Nussdorferstraße". Go back Währinger Straße, turn left into the next street (Strudlhofgasse) and turn to the right at the next corner. This street is the "Boltzmanngasse" where the hotel is situated.
